since divorcing from my ex, i have had merrick every other week (sat thru sat). we started off him living fulltime w/ me, then went to the week on/week off arrangement. what was i to say when his dad asked if we could do that, the divorce wasn't final yet.
i dated, but merrick was first in my life as he as been since jan 24, 2000 when i found out i was pregnant! i liked the freedom of not being under my exes 'control' and loved being w/ merrick. moving back to texas wasn't an option, at the time, because i was single. my 'goal' has always been to find someone to bring into our lives that we both loved and that adored BOTH of us. i finally did :^)
so, after rekindling a relationship w/ burger (totally unexpected, nor planned!) i made the decision to move back to texas w/ merrick. i have wanted merrick to grow up around family, as i did, since my ex and i separated. cousins, aunts, uncles, & grandparents....these have always been important to my growing up years, and have become super vital in my adult life!
as merrick gets older, i want him to have the benefit of relatives around him for more than once a year (as it has been since we are so far away). well, as expected, i have to get permission from the state of florida to relocate w/ my son. his dad is fighting the move, as i would have if reversed. so, the custody/relocation 'battle' is on and i've been told it's 50/50 on which way the decision will go.
i'll keep you updated on what's happened, dates, feelings, etc...love you all and value your thoughts w/ gratitude <3

Keep these posts fresh and up to date. I always want to know your safety and livehood for you were a part of my childrens growing up...Mike
